Japanese tsuba

Founded in 1998, Kitsune specializes in selling Japanese art, with a focus on ceramics, metalwork, carvings, paintings and lacquer ware. The selection on display goes beyond any specific timeline, offering both antique and contemporary art, carefully selected for the purity of design as opposed to contrived technical intricacy.

Arie Vos and Stella Melis, the founders of Kitsune, regularly organize exhibitions and participate in international fairs. Arie is also founding member of Asian Art In Brussels and helping hand in Art Connoisseurs. If you would like to be invited to their exhibitions, then we kindly ask you to join the mailing list .

With Kitsune, Arie and Stella have helped assemble lovely collections worldwide. Note that Arie's passion for Japanese art started during his childhood and over the past 30 years he developed an extensive network of dealers, collectors and curators in this particular field. They assist clients with interior designs, evaluations and appraisals (Arie is member of the belgian chamber of art experts, providing fully documented expertises and guaranteeing discretion).

Due to the many requests for information, they decided to introduce a glossary on Japanese art. There you will find explanations and pictures covering a wide range of handicrafts. Feel free to explore this tool.

We hope you will enjoy this website and we welcome you to browse the on-line catalog, revealing an assortiment from Kitsune's Japanese art collection.
